Audrey Hipkins leads the Product Research & Development unit, with responsibility for the company’s customer-facing technology strategy, including the ongoing development and enhancement of Bloomberg BNA’s web platform.
Hipkins joined BNA in 1993 as a Senior Systems Analyst in the Information Technology Division. She was appointed Manager of CD-ROM Development in 1996 and was promoted to Technical Director for Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) services in 1997. In 2000, she was named Group Publisher for the company’s EHS Division, with responsibility for the division’s 25 publications and services, guiding all phases of new product development, and developing business-to-business strategic alliances.
Prior to joining BNA, Hipkins was President of Quick Source, Inc., where she created CD-ROM products for various government agencies and commercial publishers. She previously worked as a programmer for Automated Sciences Group, IBM, and Draper Laboratories.
Hipkins graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a B.S. in computer science and engineering, and earned an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University.
She serves on the board of Washington, D.C.’s Higher Achievement Program. She is also a native of Washington and a graduate of Wilson H.S. in N.W. She still resides in the District, with her husband and three children.
