Tim Bishop is a Partner in the Chicago office of Mayer Brown where he focuses his practice on appellate litigation. Mr. Bishop has argued five cases and briefed more than 60 before the U.S. Supreme Court and has successfully handled dozens of appeals in federal and state appellate courts. He also represents clients in dispositive dismissal, summary judgment, and class certification motions in federal and state trial courts.

Mr. Bishop served as a law clerk to Justice William J. Brennan Jr. of the U.S. Supreme Court and the Honorable James L. Oakes of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He was Staff Counsel and Skadden Fellow with the American Civil Liberties Union.

He earned his B.A., MA and Diploma in Law from the University of Oxford, Corpus Christi College and his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Northwestern University School of Law.

Mr. Bishop is a co-author of the Bloomberg BNA treatise Supreme Court Practice.
