Articles Published in BNA Insights Lead the 2013 Burton Awards
Arlington, Va. (April 19, 2013) - Bloomberg BNA authors have won thirteen 2013 Burton Awards for exceptional legal writing for articles published in BNA Insights, the thought leadership platform for Bloomberg BNA publications. The authors of these articles are lawyers from the nation's largest law firms. The awards recognize work published in 2012.

The Burton Awards for Legal Achievement recognize the best in legal writing at the nation's 1,000 largest and most prestigious law firms. Nominations are submitted by managing partners at these firms, and submissions are judged by an Academic Board comprised of distinguished legal scholars from the nation's courts and top law schools.
BNA Insights is a comprehensive library of articles and videos that deliver expert commentary from top law specialists on a full range of current legal issues and trends. The original articles offer analysis of key legal, legislative, regulatory, or business developments, with an emphasis on practical implications and emerging trends and are prominently featured in both print and online BNA publications. There is also a BNA Insights mobile app.

The submissions were judged this year by an Academic Board led by Virginia Wise, a renowned teacher at Harvard Law School; Anne E. Kringel, a widely recognized expert in legal writing and senior lecturer in law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School; Grace Tonner, a prominent dean from the University of California Law School at Irvine; Judge Ed Forstenzer, a distinguished judge from California's Superior Court (retired); and William Ryan, a direct descendant of Noah Webster and former Chair of the White House Plain Language Committee.
The 14th annual Burton Awards event will be held at the Library of Congress on June 3, 2013.
