Bloomberg BNA Publishes 2012 Cumulative Supplement to “Products Comparison Manual for Trademark Users, Second Edition”

Arlington, Va. (August 2012) - Bloomberg BNA has published the 2012 Cumulative Supplement  to Products Comparison Manual for Trademark Users, Second Edition, offering coverage of Trademark Trial and Appeal Board's (TTAB) proceedings from 2007 through 2011, as well as new product comparisons.

Products Comparison Manual for Trademark Users is the only desktop reference that guides practitioners through the TTAB and the courts' findings on similarity of products for trademark uses. This handy reference covers 82 years of Board decisions and includes a CD-ROM that allows for electronic searches.

Products Comparison Manual for Trademark Users is a convenient and readily accessible source of data that will be useful in trademark infringement proceedings and for trademark registration matters. This data will permit the user to identify and locate virtually all decided cases that have compared products of interest to the user, with other products for trademark purposes. Citations are provided for all such cases.

The Second Edition contains more than 60,000 product comparisons by the courts and TTAB, covering decisions since 1929. All of the product comparisons also are provided on an accompanying CD-ROM, allowing for electronic searching and linking, in most cases, to the full text decisions either on the PTO's TTAB Decisions website or, for Bloomberg BNA subscribers, in the IP Resource Center. The treatise also includes citations for every comparison, making decisions easy to find on the PTO website or in Bloomberg BNA's U.S. Patents Quarterly (USPQ).

The 2012 Cumulative Supplement offers coverage of TTAB proceedings from 2007 through 2011 and contains the Board's determination in virtually every new product comparison, with citations to either the TTAB proceeding number or to U.S. Patents Quarterly. The accompanying CD-ROM fully incorporates the Cumulative Supplement data into the Second Edition, providing one seamless data file spanning 82 years of TTAB action.
