Ben-Yosef has won an Excellence in Financial Journalism Award, in the Electronic Media – Business/Financial category, from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).Ben-Yosef’s winning article, “Is Annuitization of DC Plans an Answer to Retirement Security Questions?” analyzed the concerns and issues surrounding the annuitization of 401(k) plans (defined contribution plans) – which has been suggested as a way to guarantee a lifetime stream of income for plan participants – and included perspectives from policymakers, practitioners, and academics.The article was first published in BNA’s Pension & Benefits Daily in January 2010 (PBD 1/28/2010), and later also appeared in Pension & Benefits Reporter, Daily Report for Executives,and Daily Tax Report.The Excellence in Financial Journalism awards recognize work by national and local reporters which contributes to a better understanding of business topics. This year’s entries were articles published in 2010.
