From the Publisher
Dear Colleague,
Greetings! Another summer has come and gone, and the fall season will bring many new Bloomberg BNA treatises and updates to existing classic titles. We’ve had an eventful summer at Bloomberg BNA, including the opportunity we had to meet many of you at the Special Libraries Association and the American Association of Law Libraries Annual Meetings. We enjoyed getting to know some of you and answering your questions. We also got some practical feedback on how Bloomberg BNA can continue to provide content that meets your needs.
We had quite a few new releases this summer, with many more titles scheduled for publication this fall. Notable new publications include:
- BNA's Directory of State and Federal Courts, Judges, and Clerks, 2013 Edition
- The Developing Labor Law: The Board, the Courts, and the National Labor Relations Act, Sixth Edition
- Directory of U.S. Labor Organizations, 2012 Edition
- ERISA Class Exemptions, Fourth Edition
- 2012 Supplement to Patents and the Federal Circuit, Tenth Edition
- 2012 Cumulative Supplement to Patent Infringement Remedies
- 2012 Supplement to Patent Prosecution: Law, Practice, and Procedure, Seventh Edition
- Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Laws, June 2012 Edition
- 2012 Cumulative Supplement to Products Comparison Manual for Trademark Users, Second Edition
- 2012 Supplement to Restrictive Covenants and Trade Secrets in Employment Law: An International Survey, Volume I
- 2012 Supplement to Restrictive Covenants and Trade Secrets in Employment Law: An International Survey, Volume II

Browse our website or take a look at our 2012–2013 Books Catalog for more detailed information about these and other new titles. All of Bloomberg BNA’s treatises are developed, written, reviewed, and edited by leading legal professionals and practitioners to ensure the most accurate and relevant information.
In addition to publishing new titles, we are looking forward to meeting more of you at upcoming conferences. Jim Fattibene, Acquisitions Manager, will be attending the American Intellectual Property Law Association Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, from October 25 – 27, and Timothy Darby, Project Director, is heading to Atlanta October 31 – November 3 to attend the 6th Annual American Bar Association Section of Labor and Employment Law Conference.
This edition of Books Monitor features an article by Barbara T. Lindemann and David D. Kadue, authors of Bloomberg BNA’s Workplace Harassment Law, titled Retaliation Claims in Employment Cases: Both More and Less Than Meets the Eye, about the scope of retaliation claims; and an article by Q. Todd Dickinson, the Executive Director of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, with which we have published two IP treatises, titled U.S. Re-Assumes Leadership in Global IP Reform. Mr. Dickinson is also our Featured Profile in this issue.
I would like to wish you continued success as we head towards the end of 2012. As always, if you have any comments or suggestions regarding the newsletter or our treatises, please do not hesitate to contact me at mhullinger@bna.com. I hope you enjoy this quarter’s Books Monitor.
Sincerely yours,
