Charlene Adline Herbain

Charlene Herbain is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Luxembourg, a Researcher and a VAT Specialist. She is currently doing postdoctoral research at the Université Catholique de Louvain. She has been twice named as an Indirect Tax Leader (2014, 2015) by International Tax Review, and her Ph.D. thesis, ‘VAT Neutrality” received very honorable mention from the jury of the IFA Maurice Lauré Prize in June 2015. Ms. Herbain has been an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Luxembourg since 2008.

Prior to her current work, Ms. Herbain spent nearly 10 years in a variety of corporate roles including: VAT Specialist Senior with Allen & Overy; Senior VAT Lawyer at Oostvogels Pfister Feyten; VAT Advisor at both Loyens & Loeff and PricewaterhouseCoopers Luxembourg, and Corporate and Tax Lawyer with Arendt & Medernach.
