Christine Boeckel’s “Sales Tax Slice” blog covers current sales and use tax developments, and highlights states’ reactions to advancements in technology and the evolution of methods for completing transactions. Christine joined Bloomberg BNA’s state tax department in 2011. She contributes to the Weekly State Tax Report, writes posts for the “Sales Tax Slice” blog, and maintains analysis for state tax navigators and portfolios. Christine focuses on product development and helps coordinate special projects, including BBNA’s annual Survey of State Tax Departments. A special report on the state taxation of cloud computing she co-authored in 2011 won the Editorial Excellence Award from the American Society of Business Publication Editors, Bloomberg BNA’s Beltz Award, and was chosen as a finalist for a Dateline Award by the Washington D.C. Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Christine received her B.A. from State University of New York at Binghamton, J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law, and her L.L.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law.
