This is our third annual survey of communications industry executives, engineers, and consultants, along with government officials, journalists, and academicians who focus on the communications industry. This year's survey centers on reactions, attitudes, and concerns related to the National Broadband Plan that the FCC released in March. We've found that industry professionals generally believe all forms of broadband technology should be given equal support in the implementation of the broadband plan, although sizeable chunks of professionals view fiber networks and WiMAX as the most important platforms. Meanwhile, a slight majority of professionals support the FCC's proposal to collect and publicize market-by-market information on broadband pricing and competition, according to our findings. Details on these and other results are illustrated in 15 charts and graphs.
