Craig A. Richardson is MESA Tax Partner at KPMG in Qatar. Prior to moving to Qatar, Mr. Richardson was a Tax Partner at KPMG Moscow where, among other things, he developed relationships with a number of strategic foreign companies in Moscow, providing Tax services that met their needs on a pro-active basis, with a small team of highly motivated managers and directors.
From 2010 to 2013, Craig was the Head of Tax and Legal at KPMG Ukraine, where he developed the Tax and Legal Practice from a generalist practice in 2010 to a strong specialist practice with 9 service lines in Tax and 4 in Legal, within 2 years; including a world class Transfer Pricing team. Today this team of motivated professionals are providing the market with high quality tax and legal services. Prior to doing this, Mr. Richardson was Head of Markets where he developed and implemented the Marketing strategy for KPMG Ukraine in 2011. The main areas of activity were brand awareness enhancement, including Website upgrading, advertising and internal/external communication improvements. In addition, the Market's back-office support was significantly improved and business development strategies were formulated and implemented.
From 2005 – 2010, Mr. Richardson was a Leader of Outsourcing and Tax Compliance & Tax Management Consulting at Deloitte where he developed a team of 140 professionals over 5 years generating significant revenues for the Firm and a highly committed team. Under his direction, the Outsourcing and Tax Compliance business provided accounting under Russian accounting standards and transformation to IFRS and US GAAP, as well as tax compliance services, by a team of 126 professional accountants. Prior to this role, Mr. Richardson had spent 15 years as a Tax Partner with Deloitte, the last three years in Deloitte’s Hong Kong division.
