In this interview, Scott Drenkard of the Tax Foundation discusses why he believes soda taxes are not good tax policy. He argues that the tax code is for raising revenue for government services, not for singling out activities to subsidize and punish based on what we do and do not like. Mr. Drenkard notes that it is not the tax code that needs reforming but the government social programs that share health care costs.
