After months of debate and weeks of waiting, the Supreme Court released its rulings in United States v. Windsor and Hollingsworth v. Perry, striking down a key provision in the Defense of Marriage Act and, in Hollingsworth, finding that the opponents of same-sex marriage lacked standing to appeal.
