Felipe Acosta is a partner at MNA Martínez Abogados and leads the areas of tax law. He also actively participates in mergers and acquisitions transactions.
His previous experience was focused on tax advice and fiscal litigation on behalf of customers in the agricultural, insurance, cement, energy, pensions, metallurgical and telecommunications sector. He has advised public entities on issues related to public finances, tax law and telecommunications regulations. He also has extensive experience in tax planning both of companies and families.
Mr. Acosta currently teaches tax law at Universidad del Rosario in Colombia and is a member of the "Instituto Colombiano de Derecho Tributario" (Tax Law Colombian Institute).
Before joining the firm, he was a senior associate at Philippi Prietocarrizosa & Uria (2012-2014) and an associate at Mauricio Plazas Vega Abogados Colombia (2005-2012).
Felipe has been named as leader lawyer in the fields of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and intellectual property by Chambers and Partners in the 2013/2014 global editions. Has been recommended as leader lawyer by Latin Lawyer 2014 and by International Financial Law Review 2014 in the field of mergers and acquisitions.
In 2014's Who's Who Legal edition, he was recognized as an expert on intellectual property, trademarks and patents and was approved by LACCA, the publication that recognizes the leader lawyer and that provides the best service according to multinational companies in Latin America.
