Course Description: This is the first course in a series of four courses covering the foreign tax credit. This first basic level course covers the eligibility of taxpayers for the Foreign Tax Credit (FTC). The focus will be on the FTC as it applies to individual taxpayers, corporations, and other entities.

This course explores the concepts essential to determining whether a taxpayer is eligible to take the foreign tax credit. Other courses in the series explore limitations on the FTC, the indirect FTC, and the impact of gains and losses on the FTC.

Other courses in the series cover the limitation, modifications for capital gains and losses and the section 902 credit and will be released later in 2013.
