Heidi Abegg focuses her practice on the representation of non-profit organizations, including charities, social welfare organizations, professional societies, trade associations, 527 organizations, candidates and political action committees, and for-profit and non-profit organizations related to running and road racing.

Heidi advises clients on all areas of business, transactional and contract law, as well as federal, state and local campaign finance laws, lobbying registration and reporting requirements, government ethics requirements, as well as privacy issues, including financial and medical privacy laws, security breach laws, and employment and general corporate matters. She also assists clients with obtaining federal, state and local tax-exempt status, group exemption rulings, and other tax matters, as well as litigation regarding tax-exempt status. Heidi has helped clients with responses to and appearances in connection with FBI, Federal Election Commission and state agency investigations, as well as clients with lobbying registration and reporting under the federal Lobbying Disclosure Act, and with state and local authorities.

Heidi litigates campaign finance cases in state and federal courts, most notably:

Heidi received her BA from Valparaiso University (cum laude) and her JD from Valparaiso University School of Law.
