Gary Hoffman is a Senior Counsel at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. He also is the Chair of Working Group 10 of the Sedona Conference that is involved in developing best practices for patent litigation. His practice focuses on intellectual property law, unfair competition, and computer law, including litigation, licensing, and creation of asset management programs. In more than 40 years of private practice, he has participated in more than 160 intellectual property lawsuits and has acted as lead counsel in most of these. These ac-tions involved patent, trademark, copyright, antitrust, trade secret, and unfair competition disputes. Additionally, he has prepared more than 200 licensing agreements and has established programs for the acquisition and management of intellectual property rights.
He was awarded the IPO President’s Distinguished Service Award in 2013 and the Sedona Conference Volunteer of the Year Award in 2014. He has given more than 200 presentations patent and patent litigation issues for various legal organizations in the US, Asia and Europe for including for such groups as IPO, AIPLA, ABA, ACA, Federal Circuit Bar Association, ED Texas Bench and Bar and other groups.

He earned his B.S.E.E. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.

Mr. Hoffman is an Editor-in-Chief Emeritus of the ABA/Bloomberg BNA treatise Patent Litigation Strategies Handbook.
