The House passes legislation repealing a provision that requires governments to withhold 3 percent of some payments to contractors, sending the measure to the president for his signature. The bill (H.R. 674) passed the House previously, but was amended in the Senate to attach tax credits for hiring unemployed veterans. The House votes 422-0 to approve the measure as amended. The repeal “makes clear that when we work together, we can find bipartisan solutions to the laws and regulations that stifle job creation,” says Ways and Means Chairman Camp.
