The war for talent is just as hard fought today as it has ever been. As we continue to gradually emerge from the recent recession and return to prosperity, we find ourselves in a unique hiring situation. A situation where we see an increased need for talented employees to meet the increasing demand for productivity, pressured by the pending retirement of large numbers of “baby boomers” and increasing regulation of hiring practices by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).

While these challenges may seem daunting, there are methods available that, if done correctly, will increase your chances of winning the talent war while keeping the EEOC and the OFCCP at bay. Researchers from the American Institutes for Research (AIR) will discuss the use of various hiring approaches including:
•Social Media based Candidate Searches
•Resume Screens
•Basic Qualifications Questionnaires
•Interviews
•Tests and Other Forms of Assessment

While these methods are not without costs and risks, a plethora of past research and new advances in technology indicate the ROI of many of these methods has come to greatly outweigh the potential costs of either not using these methods or using them incorrectly. We will discuss several key components of quality selection system procurement, design and/or implementation, such as:
•Job Relevance/Relatedness
•Validity
•Reliability
•Fairness
•Test Security
•ROI/Utility

This webinar describes some of the approaches available, how to determine the costs and benefits of building or buying a solution, how you can use these approaches to increase your organization’s performance, and how the solutions can keep your organization from getting into hot water with federal agencies. This 90-minute program is live, with opportunities for audience interaction, and intended for corporate and public sector leaders in human resources, human capital, talent management or other related roles.
