Ira G. Kawaller is the President of Kawaller & Co., LLC, a financial consulting company based in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in assisting commercial enterprises in their use of derivative instruments in managing their financial risk. 

Prior to founding Kawaller and Co. , Dr. Kawaller held positions with the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, J. Aron & Company, AT&T, and the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. He had served on the board of Hatteras Financial Corp (which merged with Annaly Capital Management Inc.) and participated on their risk committee and compensation committee. He has also served on a variety of professional boards and committees, including board of the International Association of Financial Engineers (now the International Association for Quantitative Finance) and the Financial Accounting Standard Board's Derivatives Implementation Group. 

Dr. Kawaller received a Ph.D. in economics from Purdue University and has held adjunct professorships at Columbia University and Polytechnic University. He writes and lectures prodigiously, largely focusing on derivative contract market activity.
