IRS Launches Redesigned FATCA Web Page to Help Banks, Governments

Monday, July 22, 2013
The Internal Revenue Service launched a redesigned and updated web page July 19 to help financial institutions and foreign governments comply with the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act.
Additions include a “landing page” for U.S. financial institutions that addresses their FATCA responsibilities, IRS said in its FATCA News and Information electronic newsletter.
Another new page provides information for governments interested in intergovernmental agreements (IGAs), the Service said. Taxpayers also can get information on IGAs at a special online Treasury Department resource center.
