Jeff Glickman is the partner-in-charge of Aprio's State & Local Tax (SALT) practice. He has over 15 years of SALT consulting experience, assisting domestic and international clients in all industries with multistate tax issues, including income/franchise, sales/use, real estate transfer and recording, withholding, and other state and local taxes.   Jeff’s practice focuses on transactional matters for corporations and pass-through entities, and he has extensive experience structuring business transactions and operations to minimize multistate tax liabilities, performing SALT due diligence and nexus reviews, and advising companies on the SALT implications of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, internal restructurings, technology outsourcing arrangements, and general business operations.

In addition to his transactional practice, Jeff maintains a multistate administrative tax dispute and negotiations practice, including obtaining private letter rulings, preparing and negotiating voluntary disclosure agreements, and assisting clients during audits.

Jeff has authored and contributed to articles appearing in various national tax journals, and is a frequent lecturer on SALT topics, with an emphasis on income taxation, sales/use taxation, multistate tax aspects of mergers/acquisitions and other business transactions, and constitutional issues in multistate taxation.

He has addressed national audiences at conferences, seminars, teleconferences, and webinars sponsored by the Council on State Taxation (COST), Tax Executives Institute (TEI), Institute of Professionals in Taxation (IPT), Lorman Education Services, Interstate Tax Corporation, National Business Institute, and Strafford.  Jeff co-authored the BNA Portfolio on Georgia Corporate Taxes, and from 2010-2012 he was the Editor-in-Chief of The Tax Lawyer: The State and Local Tax Edition, published by the American Bar Association Section of Taxation.  Jeff also serves as an adjunct professor at Emory Law School, where he teaches a class in multistate taxation.

Prior to joining Apiro, Jeff was an attorney with the SALT group of Alston & Bird LLP in Atlanta. Jeff received his LL.M. in Taxation in 1999 and his J.D. in 1998 from New York University School of Law, and he received his B.S., with distinction, from Cornell University in 1995.
