Lam, Carol C

Carol Lam is Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Qualcomm Incorporated. From 2002-07, she was the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California. Prior to her confirmation as U.S. Attorney, Ms. Lam was a judge of the Superior Court in San Diego, where she presided over a criminal trial calendar.

From 1986 to 2000, she served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of California, where she was Chief of the Major Frauds Section. As a prosecutor, Ms. Lam received both the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service and the Director’s Award for Superior Performance as an Assistant U.S. Attorney.

Ms. Lam was a law clerk to the Honorable Irving R. Kaufman on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

She is a graduate of Yale University and Stanford Law School.

Ms. Lam was a co-author of the Bloomberg BNA treatise Prosecuting and Defending Health Care Fraud Cases.
