Jeff Levinson is Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary responsible for global legal strategy and legal operations at NetScout. Before joining the company in 2005, he served four years as corporate counsel at Nuance. Before that he was General Counsel at an internet startup and a division counsel at a global publishing company.

Mr. Levinson is Chair of the Association of Corporate Counsel's Law Department Management Committee (Leadership/Strategy/Operations), a Board member of the ACC Northeast Chapter, and a member of the program committee of the National Association of Corporate Directors, New England chapter.  He received his B.A. from Harvard University, his J.D. from Boston University School of Law and his M.B.A. from Babson College, Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business.

He is the author of Bloomberg BNA Corporate Practice Portfolio Series No. 95, Managing the Corporate Legal Department: How to Create Plans, Develop Processes and Lead the In-House Legal Team.  This portfolio volume describes the legal and business skills needed to effectively lead and manage a corporate legal department. It begins with a discussion of the evolution of the role of in-house counsel and the ethical issues that they frequently encounter in their work. The portfolio goes on to discuss specific management issues that are relevant to in-house counsel, including, among others, strategic planning, organization of the legal department, hiring and retaining lawyers and staff, resource management, budgeting, and contract management. The portfolio also discusses insurance for and indemnification of in-house counsel.
