Scott Lipkin is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting. Dr. Lipkin is part of the Health Solutions practice and in the research and compliance group. He focuses his practice in research compliance, research ethics, human subject protections, IRB operations and administration, scientific misconduct, conflicts of interest, research clinical operations, physician compensation, and research financial administration. Dr. Lipkin’s clients include academic medical centers, health systems, hospitals, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Prior to joining FTI, Dr. Lipkin was the Chief of the Network Office of Research and Innovation at the Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania, where he was responsible for the oversight of research operations including human subject protections, research compliance, research finance, clinical operations, and education. Dr. Lipkin is an experienced investigator, IRB member, IRB chair, and human research protection program Director.
After completing a residency in foot and ankle surgery at St. Mary Hospital in Philadelphia, Dr. Lipkin joined the medical staff of the Lehigh Valley Health Network in 1989. He earned Diplomat status from the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in 1992. Prior to accepting an appointment as a full time research administrator, Dr. Lipkin served as Chief of the Division of Podiatric Surgery for 10 years at Lehigh Valley Health Network.
Dr. Lipkin received his B.S. from the Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
He is a co-author of the Bloomberg BNA Health Law & Business Portfolio Series No. 3200, The Regulation and Management of Clinical Research.
