McKenna Long, Dentons Merger Now Effective

July 1 — McKenna Long & Aldridge and Dentons US July 1 announced that their merger now is effective.

The new Dentons US LLP will comprise 1,100 attorneys and legal professionals in 21 locations in the U.S., including New York, Washington, Chicago and Silicon Valley, the law firm said in a release.

“Just in the first half of this year we have significantly advanced our global strategy, with a unique polycentric approach that highlights the importance of being in-and-of communities around the world,” Global Chairman Joe Andrew said in the release. “Today's milestone further supports that strategy with an enhanced presence in the US.”

Among other leadership changes, Jeff Haidet, who was McKenna Long’s chairman, and Peter Wolfson, Dentons US's chief executive officer, will serve as co-CEOs of Dentons US LLP. Former Dentons US Managing Partner Mike McNamara will be managing partner of the merged entity.
