Michael Paxton CPA


Mr. Paxton is a manager in the Washington National Tax multistate tax services group based in Washington, D.C. In his current role, Mr. Paxton assists with national consultation and review of client deliverables. Mr. Paxton has historically specialized in the state tax planning and consultation related to mergers and acquisitions as well as bankruptcy issues, and he has written two BNA articles on topics in that area: Planning for an Economic Upturn: IRC Section 382 Computational Approaches for Multistate Taxpayers and Unintended Consequence of I.R.C. Conformity: California Rules Taxpayer May Disregard Treas. Reg. §1.337(d)-2. 

Mr. Paxton also tracks broad developments that impact state taxation and writes frequently on such topics, including co-authoring the BNA article "Multistate Tax Commission Continues to Explore Transfer Pricing".
