Mike Schmidt joined Bloomberg BNA in May 2013 as the Vice President and Director of Human Resources. Before joining Bloomberg BNA, he spent a short period of time working for Bloomberg LP, where he managed several key business projects within the Industry Verticals.
Prior to joining Bloomberg, Mike was Vice President of Human Resources, Facilities, and Real Estate for Vertrue, an $800M direct marketing company with subsidiaries operating in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. He had oversight for strategy development and day-to-day operations related to all aspects of human resources, facilities, and real estate and worked closely with the Board of Directors on executive compensation.
Earlier Mike was the Regional Head of Compensation (North American) for Reuters America, now known as Thomson Reuters. In this capacity, he had direct oversight for all aspects of executive compensation, merit/incentive plan design, and equity administration. He played a key role in several significant acquisitions and integrations of businesses that Reuters acquired during his tenure.
In addition, Mike held key human resources roles at Lucent Technologies, Bernard Hodes Advertising, Motorola, Grace Technologies, and Butler Technologies.
Mike has a B.S. from Mount St. Mary College and holds certifications as a Compensation Professional and Senior Professional in Human Resources.
