Presented by the New Jersey Division of Taxation's Michele Bartolomei, Assistant Director--Audit, and Lee Evans, Chief Office-Audit, this timely and comprehensive overview will cover the following topics:

• recent legislative changes, including the repeal of New Jersey's throwout rule, the "regular pace of business" apportionment requirement, and extension of the net operating loss carryover period;

Michele Bartolomei, Lee Evans 

Michele Bartolomei, Assistant Director of Audit Activity, New Jersey Division of Taxation
Michele Bartolomei is the Assistant Director of Audit Activity for the New Jersey Division of Taxation. She has been employed by the Division for the past 29 years. Prior to her appointment to Assistant Director she was Assistant Chief of the Field Audit Branch with the responsibility of managing 12 Field Audit groups in Central and Southern New Jersey.

She has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Science in Management from The College of New Jersey. She also holds The Certified Public Manager designation.

Lee Evans, Chief Auditor, Office Audit, Division of Taxation
Lee Evans, Chief Auditor, Office Audit is a career employee with the Division of Taxation. He started with the Division in 1977 after graduating from Rider College with a major in Accounting. He has had a variety of assignments during his career including Office Audit Branch, Audit Selection and Quality Control, Office of Criminal Investigation, Director’s Staff, Coordinated the New York – New Jersey Cooperative Sales Tax Agreement, supervised the Corporation Tax Billing and Refund Section, and the Office Audit Field Audit Team and was previously Chief to the Audit Service Branch.

Currently he is the Chief of the Office Audit Branch. He also is Vice Chairman of the MultiState Tax Commission Nexus Committee.
