NWC Threatens Legal Action if IRS Does Not Bend on Whistleblower Rules

The National Whistleblowers Center threatens legal action if IRS's final rules on whistleblowers are contrary to tax code Section 7623's plain language and impair whistleblowers rights. NWC joins a chorus of rank-and-file critics who say the proposed whistleblower rules should make it easier for informants to come forward, rather than restricting the whistleblower program. Pointing to IRS's recent defeat in Loving v. IRS, NWC says IRS should be careful not to exceed its statutory authority.
