"We already had the information and then we also compared it
to our third party provider. They sent us a file so we had the correct figure
to put on our W-2s."
--Jan Hartman, CPP, payroll manager, Bon-Ton Department Stores Inc., York, Pa.
"As soon as the ruling came out they sent out all kinds of
publications. We haven’t had any employees question it so far, whatever we
found out from APA we rolled it out to our employees. We put it on our employee
self-service website so everyone was made aware pretty quickly."
--Diannia Robinson, payroll specialist, Verisign Inc., Reston, Va.
"Due to the size of our company, we chose not to implement
the reporting this year. We consolidated with our outside CPA and he basically
left it up to us; maybe next year. Our
software is capable so basically there will be a place where we can enter in
the information and it will show up on the W-2s."
--Steven Smith, assistant director of administration, Aero Contractors Ltd., Smithfield, N.C.
"This year we got a free pass because we had less than 250
employees last year. This year we will exceed that so that is something
upcoming for us to be reporting on in 2014. Just putting together the reports
and information this year is important, but could be challenging for next year."
--Kimberly Fox, CPP, payroll manager, Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Co., Columbia, Mo.
"We had to upload it into our system to have it reported on
the W-2. It was challenging to put the
whole year together."
--Gina Compton, payroll, Patient First, Glen Allen, Va.
"It’s been challenging but if you just follow the regulation
and do your research, you should be able to accurately report. The IRS charts
were really good."
--Yvette Hart, CPP, technical support engineer, Kronos Inc., Groveland, Fla.
