Welcome . . . May 22, 2007

Live, from Las Vegas!

Welcome to BNA's online coverage of the 25th American Payroll Association Congress! Beginning May 23, BNA's reporters and editors will be navigating through the significant events to give you a variety of general session and workshop coverage on this site--all free to you!

We hope you can see that our approach here complements APA's "Silver Safari" theme this year - just like BNA's Payroll Library complements your involvement in APA!

While more than some 2,000 payroll professionals are expected to attend this year's Congress, this site allows those not attending to get a sense of what's happening in the general sessions, in selected workshops, as well as in the exhibit hall. While nothing will take the place of your full attendance at the APA Congress, BNA's coverage here is the next best thing to being there.

This is the 10th year BNA has provided this online Congress coverage, and this fact is an indicator of the consistent effort we make at BNA to provide you answers to your payroll questions you need, when you need them, from the payroll professional's well-regarded resource: BNA's Payroll Library. This page will remain active for some time after the Congress, so you can mark it as a “favorite,” and share with your work colleagues, supervisors, and friends a taste of what APA's Annual Congress is all about.

For those who are attending Congress, explore BNA's Booth 326 in the exhibit hall and see not only this site and Payroll Library, but also get Vegas chocolate "chips," useful Payroll Reference Rulers, and participate in raffles for other prizes! Maybe you'll already be a part of the coverage! In addition to our esteemed editorial and marketing staff, members of BNA's Payroll Library Advisory Board will be dropping by BNA's display in the exhibit hall to see our Safari-themed exhibit. The BNA Board includes former APA president Corey Lehr, and well-known payroll professionals such as Brent Gow, Martin Armstrong, Fred Basehore, Lois Fried, Patrick McKenna, and Leonard Jacobs.

If you are not already a subscriber to BNA's Payroll Library, or its sister publications: HR Library and Compensation & Benefits Library, then try a free, no obligation trial, or peruse BNA's HR and Payroll Store at hrcenter.bna.com. We are confident you'll find the answers you need to your administrative and compliance issues through our services.

Sincerely,

Michael Baer, CPP
Managing Editor
