Philippos Aristotelous

An Advocate – Partner in the Corporate and Commercial Division of Neocleous in Cyprus, Philippos Aristotelous joined the firm in 2004 as a trainee and on completion of his legal training and admission to the Cyprus Bar in 2005 he continued his career as an associate in the corporate and commercial department.  In 2010 he was promoted to senior associate and in 2012 he was admitted as a partner.

Mr. Aristotelous is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) as well as the International Tax Planning Association.

Philippos has over ten years of experience in corporate and commercial law with a special focus on corporate law, trusts and succession planning and tax matters. He has been advising private as well as corporate clients on cross-border tax matters and on the application of the double tax treaties to which Cyprus is a contracting party (including in particular the treaties with Ukraine and Russia) with particular emphasis on the structuring, streamlining of (and exits from) investments in Russia and Ukraine through Cyprus. He has been acting as lead counsel advising on all Cypriot legal and tax matters in relation to several clients situated in Ukraine and in Russia including one of the Russia’s largest steel producers and has assisted with the setting up of the shareholding and holding structure of the same structure which is situated in Cyprus.
