With the presidential election now in the rear-view mirror, the Obama adminisratiion is likely to quickly begin issuing several crucial rules governing the implementaiton of the Affordable Care Act.
Jennifer Butler, senior policy adviser at Alston & Bird LLP, said during a Nov. 7 webinar sponsored by the Premier healthcare alliance that the Department of Health and Human Services likely will issue numerous rules over the next several weeks regarding ACA, including one governing the essential benefits package.\
Blair Childs, senior vice president for public affairs at Premier, added that a final regulation implementing the medical device tax likely will be released “very soon.”
Butler said Congress and the White House may agree to “tweak” the law, but the possibility of wholesale changes is “fairly remote.”
