Washington, DC (February 20, 2007) – BNA®, publisher of the authoritative and universally recognized Tax Management Portfolio series analyzing primarily tax issues, has released the latest addition to its Accounting Policy & Practice Series™. Portfolio 5302, Corporate Accountability and Triple Bottom Line Reporting, explains and analyzes the "Triple Bottom Line" (TBL)—an increasingly popular methodology that enables companies to report not only their financial results but also their success in promoting social and environmental values.
Traditionally, companies have reported primarily on issues of economic impact. However, stakeholders and the public increasingly expect corporations to show that they are not merely delivering economic value, but also following socially and environmentally responsible paths. Corporate Accountability and Triple Bottom Line Reporting provides guidelines for implementing TBL/Sustainability reporting, including the development of the TBL concept and its emergence as a way of demonstrating Corporate Social Responsibility.
The Portfolio provides a straightforward introduction for corporations that wish to issue TBL or Sustainability reports. It presents examples of company social and environmental reports, along with case histories illustrating the consequences of not adequately planning for environmental and social risks. Other topics include the metrics used in TBL/Sustainability reporting, key organizations involved, and auditing and accountability considerations.
This Portfolio may be cited as BNA Tax and Accounting Portfolio 5302, Taylor, Corporate Accountability and Triple Bottom Line Reporting (Accounting Policy and Practice Series).
