Arlington, Va. (May 18, 2009) – Specialized news and information publisher BNA today announced that Michael Eisenstein joined the company as Vice President and Group Publisher, Legal & Business Publishing, effective May 11, 2009.

Eisenstein brings to BNA extensive legal and publishing experience, having served as the Vice President of Publishing Development at LEXIS-NEXIS, where he led product development across all of the business units. He previously served as Vice President and Publisher at Garland Law Publishing; and as Editorial Director at Matthew Bender and Co., he oversaw the criminal law and practice division. He maintained a solo appellate practice from 1976 until 1997, specializing in civil and criminal appeals.

“Michael has the exciting challenge of leading BNA’s Legal & Business Publishing Group in creating, developing, and sustaining the content needed to support not only our existing products, but also new and creative product offerings for the legal and business market,” said Gregory C. McCaffery, BNA’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “He has solid business experience creating high quality editorial content, and, as a practicing attorney, is intimately familiar with the products that are central to this market, and how our customers use them.”

Eisenstein holds a B.A. degree from Syracuse University, and a J.D. degree from Brooklyn Law School. He is a member of the New York bar, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
