Montella Named Vice President and Director of Strategic Resources at BNA

Arlington, Va. (May 6, 2009) – Specialized news and information publisher BNA announced the appointment of Richard A. Montella as Vice President and Director of Strategic Resources. In this role, Mr. Montella will be responsible for directing several units, including Strategic Alliances, Pricing & Licensing, and Marketing Research that will contribute essential support to critical initiatives of BNA’s business units and overall corporate strategic goals and objectives.

His expanded responsibility encompasses all business development activity for the BNA parent company, including maintaining and expanding BNA’s key alliances and partnerships, identifying potential alliance partners, and negotiating business arrangements to support BNA’s strategic objectives.

Rick Montella joined BNA in 1990 as a Research Analyst in the Sales & Marketing Department. He was promoted to Senior Marketing Research Analyst in 1993 and appointed Marketing Research Manager in 1996. In 1997 he created BNA’s Pricing and Contracts group to focus on the development of new pricing models to support the specific needs of BNA’s varied market segments, assuming the additional role of Director of Pricing. In 2005 he was named Director, Strategic Resources, and formed the Strategic Information Management and Strategic Sales groups.

Montella graduated from Bloomsburg University with a B.S. in marketing, and earned an MBA from the Smeal College of Business, Penn State University.

He serves on the board of Llesiant Inc., an Austin, TX firm which provides web-based business intelligence services. He resides in Maryland, with his wife and three children.
