Essential information. Expert analysis. |
| Business Description |
The largest independent publisher of specialized news and information for professionals in business and government. BNA’s print and electronic products address the full range of legislative, regulatory, and economic developments affecting business, and are widely respected for comprehensive and objective reporting and analysis. In 2007, more than half of BNA’s subscription revenue was generated by electronic products, most of which are delivered on the Web. |
| Corporate Culture |
The culture at BNA is defined by employee ownership. We are the oldest wholly employee-owned company in the United States. The company has three times been named to the Fortune magazine list of the “100 Best Companies to Work for in America,” was included on Working Mother’s list of the “100 Best Companies for Working Mothers” for nine years in a row, and was the 2000 winner of the prestigious Business Ethics Award for Employee Ownership. BNA is a widely praised corporate citizen, with many employees actively involved in non-profit activities and board leadership. Because BNA is headquartered in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, most of our philanthropic and community outreach efforts are concentrated in this region. |

| Employee Stock Ownership |
Employee ownership, the cornerstone of BNA, is fueled by employee purchases of stock through the Stock Purchase and Transfer Plan and through the BNA 401(k) Plan. There is no established public trading market for any of BNA’s three classes of stock, but the Stock Purchase and Transfer Plan provides employees a market in which Class A stock can be bought and sold. |
