Kathryn Thomson
Kathryn Thomson is a partner with Sidley Austin’s Environmental Practice Group in Washington, D.C. Her practice focuses on civil and criminal litigation, compliance counseling, and regulatory advocacy on a variety of environmental issues, including Clean Air Act programs and requirements.
Katie also assists clients in conducting internal investigations and responding to government investigations, regularly defends clients in complex environmental litigation matters under an array of federal environmental statutes, works with experts on the development and presentation of scientific and technical issues, and provides crisis management advice.
Katie is the vice chairperson of the American Bar Association’s Air Quality Subcommittee and the co-author of an article, “The Changing Face of Environmental Criminal Law: Trends & Developments, 1999-2001.”
Katie received her B.A. (summa cum laude) from the University of Illinois and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
