The Senate Finance Committee April 23 will vote on the nomination of Marilyn Tavenner to be administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
If the nomination is approved, as expected, it will then go before the full Senate.
Obama Feb. 7 renominated Tavenner to be CMS administrator. She has been serving as acting administrator since late 2011. CMS has not had a Senate-confirmed administrator since 2006.
The Finance committee April 9 held a nomination hearing for Tavenner in which Democrats and Republicans praised her for her stewardship of CMS as acting administrator
