Lynn Shapiro Snyder is a Senior Member of Epstein, Becker & Green P.C. in the Health Care and Life Sciences and Litigation practices in the firm's Washington, D.C., office, and Strategic Counsel with EBG Advisors, Inc. Ms. Snyder has over thirty years of experience, advising clients about federal, state, and international health law issues, including Medicare, Medicaid, TRICARE, compliance, and managed care issues. Her clients include health care providers, payers, pharmaceutical/device manufacturers, and those companies and financial services firms that support the health care industry.
Ms. Snyder serves on the firm's Board and Finance Committee. She chairs its Third-Party Payment Practice Group, which concentrates on legal and regulatory matters arising under third-party payment programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and TRICARE; co-chairs the Health Care Fraud Practice Group that focuses on federal and state fraud issues, including anti-kickback, self-referral, false claims, secondary payer issues, and false billings; and co-chairs the Health And Employment Law (HEAL) Group, leading the Health Care and Life Sciences practice in its partnership with the firm's Labor and Employment practice.
Ms. Snyder has served as lead defense counsel for several large national health care entities, including one of the largest pharmaceutical companies, one of the largest home health service providers, and one of the largest respiratory services providers in connection with significant federal and state fraud investigations/settlements. She has also served as lead health care deal counsel for private equity firms and strategic partners regarding health policy and health regulatory issues for health care firm transactions, and as outside general counsel for AHIP, the national trade association for HMOs, PPOs and UROs.
She received her B.A. from Franklin & Marshall College and her J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
Ms. Snyder is a co-author of the Bloomberg BNA Health Law & Business Portfolio Series No. 2300, Accountable Care Organizations and Other Provider Risk Sharing Arrangements.
