Agenda

With billions of state government dollars devoted to providing tax credits and other incentives for “going green,” businesses have more opportunities than ever to benefit from investing in energy efficient solutions and projects.

But there’s only one problem. As the various types of tax breaks and other incentives continue to accumulate across 50 state tax jurisdictions, it has become more difficult than ever to wade through all the rules and regulations.

In this Webinar, two experts in the field show you how to identify, claim, and maximize green incentives for your client or business. They will also highlight negotiating strategies and key contract provisions that will protect a taxpayer that becomes unable to comply with an incentive program’s ongoing requirements. Other issues such as the transferability of incentives to related or non-related entities will also be addressed.

Presentation Objectives:

The objectives of this 90 minute Webinar include providing participants with a conceptual understanding of:

• What is meant by the term “green incentive”
• The various types of tax and non-tax green incentives that the states are offering
• The manner in which certain businesses can leverage the various green incentives offered to consumers
• The general process of identifying and claiming green incentives
• Some of the compliance issues that can arise as a result of claiming certain types of green incentives

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

• Understand the basic types of green incentives that the states are offering
• Learn important considerations for negotiating incentive contracts with state or local governments
• Mitigate risks by identifying key contract points that will likely arise should a client or business find itself unable to keep its end of the bargain
• Understand the various accounting and financial issues that arise in the green incentives arena
