For many years, the use of an automated sales suppression device to evade taxes has been a significant problem for governments in Canada and the European Union. Now the problem has emerged in the United States, and in this article, Bloomberg BNA takes a look at how legislatures across the U.S. are enacting measures to confront the high-tech crime just as state tax administrators are beginning to calculate the significant revenue losses caused by these devices.
