Steven Roll


Assistant Managing Editor

Steven Roll’s “State Tax Snapshot” blog posts highlight how state tax laws vary on important issues. Steven is an Assistant Managing Editor and has been with Bloomberg BNA since 1998. He focuses on product development, author relations, social media, and special projects, such as Bloomberg BNA’s annual Survey of State Tax Departments and State Tax Advisory Board Roundtable. A special report on the state taxation of cloud computing he co-authored in 2011 won the Editorial Excellence Award from the American Society of Business Publication Editors, Bloomberg BNA’s Beltz Award, and was chosen as a finalist for a Dateline Award by the Washington D.C. Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Steven has also received Bloomberg BNA’s Degler Reference Quality Award. He has twice won Bloomberg BNA’s Award of Excellence for management. Steven received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore.
