June 18 — The Treasury Department is hoping to release a final revised U.S. model tax treaty by the end of the year and is seeking comments on proposed changes within the next 90 days, Treasury International Tax Counsel Danielle Rolfes said.

Treasury is already in the process of refining those changes, which the government unveiled in proposed form May 20, she added (98 DTR G-6, 5/21/15).

“We are incredibly far along,” she said at a June 18 luncheon sponsored by Bloomberg BNA and hosted by Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC. Comments should be submitted “sooner rather than later,” and any form of comment is welcome, Rolfes said.
