The government is continuing work on a number of projects on corporate tax restructurings, including guidance under tax code Section 336(e), a Treasury Department official said April 16.

Treasury hopes to finalize rules under this code section “very soon,” according to Krishna P. Vallabhaneni, Treasury attorney adviser for tax legislation in the Office of Tax Legislative Counsel.

Vallabhaneni spoke at a luncheon sponsored by the D.C. Bar Tax Section. He said the government is working to finalize rules under tax code Section 362(e)(2), and on proposed rules under tax code Section 362(e)(1).
