With more and more new technology entering the marketplace every day, there has been a corresponding increase in used and end of life electronic products. Until recently, there had been very little data collected on the global market for used electronic products. In the meantime, a debate has evolved as to what constitutes e-scrap, what is happening to exported used electronic products once they reach their destination, and what role the United States should play in the global used electronics market.

In this 90-minute webinar, Robin Wiener, president of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, and Jim Puckett, the executive director of Basel Action Network, will:

  • Review recent studies in trends regarding the trade of used electronic products
  • Analyze what this new information means for recycling and the recycling industry
  • Describe the role of current domestic and international laws and certification standards
