Steven D. Wheeless is a partner at Steptoe & Johnson LLP, with a national practice including labor, employment litigation, and commercial matters. He has served as lead trial counsel in connection with over 1,000 employer and union-initiated unfair labor practice allegations, labor-related civil suits, and arbitration matters. In addition, he provides advice and counsel on merger and acquisition issues involving organized work forces as well as labor-related antitrust issues, and serves as lead trial and appellate counsel for employers defending against wage-and-hour putative class and collective actions.
Mr. Wheeless earned a B.S. (with honors) at the United States Air Force Academy, a B.S. (with honors) at Roosevelt University, an M.S. at Golden Gate University, and a J.D. (with highest honors) at the George Washington University National Law Center.
He has served as an Editor-in-Chief of the ABA/Bloomberg BNA treatise The Developing Labor Law: The Board, the Courts, and the National Labor Relations Act.
