Important Information for Windows ® XP SP2 upgrade

For Windows XP users, Microsoft has released an update called “Service Pack 2” (“SP2”). SP2 provides a series of security enhancements for the Windows XP operating system. As with any update, before installing SP2 you should first check with your internal Information Technology (IT) department/administrator, or consultant. One of the new security features in this SP2 release is a “pop-up blocker.”

BNA Products use pop-ups as part of its functionality, so if you have installed SP2, follow the instructions below to modify this feature.

First, add BNA products as trusted sites:

1. Select Tools.
2. Select Internet Options.
3. Access the Security tab.
4. Select the Trusted sites.
5. Select the Sites... button.
6. Uncheck the box Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.
7. Individually add each of the following to the Trusted Sites: *.bna.com, *.bnatax.com, *.stf.com, in Add this web site to the zone edit box.
8. Select Add.
9. Select OK.

Second, enable automatic prompting for ActiveX controls.

1. Access the Security tab. (See above Instructions Step Number 1 and 2)
2. Select to highlight Internet.
3. Select Custom Level button.
4. Under ActiveX Controls and plug-ins, Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls (for IE 6.0 you will go under Download Signed ActiveX controls), Click Enable.
5. Select OK.
6. When prompted 'Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone?', select Yes.
7. Select OK to close Internet Options

Third, allow pop-ups for BNA products. This will allow pop-up boxes only from designated sites.

1. Go to the Tools menu.
2. Select Pop-up Blocker.
3. Choose Pop-up Blocker Settings... from the Pop-up Blocker sub menu.
4. One at a time, enter each of the following domain names in " Address of Web site to allow: ". Select the Add button after entering each domain name.
   • bna.com
   • bnatax.com
   • stf.com
5. Select Close.
