Environmental regulations and litigation have made many headlines this year, from President Obama’s Clean Power Plan to Flint, Mich., and its lead-tainted drinking water.

It’s also been a year for major legislation from the signing of the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act for the 21st Century into law, marking the first significant overhaul of U.S. chemical safety legislation in 40 years, to passage of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act, which provides money for water infrastructure.
