ARLINGTON, VA (May 13, 2019) — Bloomberg Law today announced that it will be holding its fifth annual Bloomberg Law Leadership Forum on Thursday, May 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the global headquarters of Bloomberg L.P. in New York City. The event convenes senior leaders from government, law firms and corporate legal departments to discuss legal, business, regulatory issues that are impacting mergers and acquisitions. The forum begins with a keynote interview of Richard Donoghue, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, who will discuss current government enforcement priorities impacting corporate transactions, including increased antitrust scrutiny and amplified examinations of potentially fraudulent transactions. Panels will focus on a wide range of topics including hazards to avoid when valuing data in a transaction, why mergers and acquisitions fail, and steps counsel can take to minimize the likelihood of deal collapse.
“We’re excited to convene a roster of corporate deal-making experts from the in-house and law firm worlds who will discuss the evolving regulatory landscape and the shifting nature of corporate transactions,” said Joe Breda, President, Bloomberg Law. “Attendees will learn about some of the most common pitfalls impacting mergers and acquisitions—and more importantly, what steps they can take to avoid potential setbacks and get deals across the finish line.”
